After a 34 year career as a theatre teacher Ben Martin continues to be an active advocate for school arts education programs by serving as Executive Director for the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education. He also works to promote arts activities as an economic development tool, serving as past chair of the Arts Council, president of Summit Theatre Group and as chair of the Downtown Lee’s Summit Cultural Arts Committee. His innovative street theatre production, Cellular ‘Cenes, was featured in the Kansas City Fringe Festival last summer and awarded Top Promotional Project in Missouri in 2013 by the Missouri Main Streets Connection. He played alto saxophone in school bands from 5th grade through college.
