  • High School Band received “I” ratings at Music Festival
  • Numerous students and Ensembles received “I” ratings at Music Festival

1964-1965 Graduate Assistant at UCM (CMSU) selected by Eugene Rousseau

  • Featured soloist with Band Spring Tour 1965
  • Worked with Dr. Russ Coleman writing Marching Band Shows and as Director of the Esseg Collection (Civil War Instruments) on tour and as Assistant Director.
  • Received MA Degree in Performance

1965-1966 Music Instructor/Band Director at Northgate Junior High, NKC MO

1966-1980 Instrumental Music Instructor/Assistant Director of Bands/Director of Bands, Park Hill High School, Kansas City Missouri

  • Freshman Band selected for the SWMENC Convention in St. Louis, MO
  • Freshman Band consistently received “I” ratings at Suburban Kansas City Music Festival
  • Numerous students and ensembles received “I” ratings at Music Festival
  • Numerous clarinet players selected for All State Band
  • Elected Band Vice President of MMEA
  • Elected President of MBA
  • High School Band performed several times at MMEA
  • Wrote Marching band show drill

1981-1994 Instrumental Music Instructor/Assistant Director of Bands/Lees Summit Schools

  • High School Band performed at MMEA several times
  • Numerous clarinet players accepted into the Missouri All-State Band
  • Received Distinguished Alumni Award at UCM (CMSU) 1985
  • Wrote custom marching band show drill for High Schools and Colleges.

1994 – 2000 Instrumental Music Instructor/Assistant Director of Bands – Olathe North High School, Olathe Kansas

2001-2006 Woodwind Specialist for Kansas City Kansas School District

  • Organized the first Junior High Music Festival in KC Kansas schools
  • Received the Midwest Winds Band Director Salute in 2007

  • Elected to Who’s Who in America Among College and University Students 1962
  • Continually encouraged students to participate in Pit Orchestras and Community Bands.
  • Adjudicator at many Music Festivals throughout the states of Missouri, Kansas, and North Dakota
  • Instructor, Clinician at Band Camps throughout Missouri
  • Member of the St Joe Symphony and the Northland Symphony Orchestra
  • Member of several Community Bands in Missouri and Kansas
  • Music Director for High School Musicals and Kansas City Parks and Recreation Theater in the Park
  • 40 plus years of teaching in public schools and private lesson studio.
  • At one time 4 clarinet players were simultaneously 1st chair in their respective college bands
  • Introduced the Kirkwood High School Band under the direction of his eldelst son, Jason for their performance at MMEA in 2010
